Box, Inc. is a leader in Intelligent Content Management (ICM). The Japan Ministry of Defense’s Air Self-Defense Force (ASDF) has chosen Box to upgrade its content management and collaboration systems. This move lets the ASDF share information safely. It improves communication within the organization and with partners. This way, coordination across units gets stronger.
The ASDF keeps Japan’s airspace safe and helps with disaster relief. It faces growing pressure to digitize its operations, automate workflows, and simplify its information systems. These efforts target rising cybersecurity threats, staffing issues, and a fast-changing security scene. Previously, the ASDF relied on local file servers at its 73 bases nationwide. These systems are secure, but they have some limits. They struggle with storage space, require a lot of management, and make collaboration less efficient.
