In recent years, the automotive industry has seen advances in technological innovation, including electrification, autonomous driving, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and connected cars, resulting in increasingly sophisticated and complex systems. As a result, efficient evaluation has become a challenge at development sites, and the Vehicle-in-the-Loop Simulation (VILS) method, which combines hardware and simulation or actual vehicles with simulation, is attracting attention. In November 2023, Toyo Corporation acquired Rototest, the developer and manufacturer of the hub dynamometer “ROTOTEST® Energy,” as a wholly owned subsidiary, and has since expanded its “Driving & Motion Test System (DMTS),” an integrated system that combines this product with radar and camera simulators.
The European market, and Germany in particular, is a key market for major automakers and suppliers, with their development bases concentrated there. By establishing this local subsidiary, we will be able to provide system proposals and technical support from a base close to our customers, thereby establishing ourselves as a trusted premium development partner for the German automotive industry. Furthermore, we plan to open a test lab in January 2026 and begin offering professional services for contract testing using “ROTOTEST® Energy.”
