Isuzu Motors Limited and Fujitsu Limited have signed a partnership agreement to strengthen the development of competitive software-defined vehicles (commercial SDVs) that take into account the characteristics of commercial mobility, with the aim of resolving issues in the logistics industry, such as improving logistics efficiency and achieving carbon neutrality. Utilizing each company’s strengths in commercial vehicles and digital know-how and assets, the two companies will work on issues such as the ideal development system in the age of software updates, training of software human resources, and improving development efficiency and strengthening of development infrastructure.
Isuzu and Fujitsu, together with Transtron Co., Ltd. a joint venture between the two companies, began operating “GATEX,” an information platform that provides advanced operation management and operational support services, in October 2022. Based on GATEX, Isuzu has provided various services such as advanced genuine maintenance “PREISM” and commercial vehicle telematics “MIMAMORI” as Isuzu’s unique solutions for approximately 570,000 commercial vehicles.
今後、業務用SDVの実現により、より高度なデータ活用が可能となり、輸送効率の向上や物流の見える化による業務の効率化、BEV（バッテリー電気自動車）やFCV（燃料電池自動車）のエネルギーマネジメントの最適化によるCO2排出量の削減などが期待されます。また、本提携により、GATEXを商用SDVのデータ活用プラットフォームとして深化させ、新たなソリューションの開発・提供を通じて、物流業界の社会的課題の解決を推進してまいります。
