While demand in the construction industry remains strong, the declining working population and aging of engineers are becoming serious issues, making improving productivity an urgent issue. In response to this situation, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism is promoting the automation of construction sites using digital technology through measures such as “i-Construction.” However, the first step toward automation, on-site digitalization, still faces high hurdles, and there are only a limited number of cases where it has actually been put into operation on-site.
