Timee Corporation, which provides the part-time job service “Timee”, has signed a comprehensive partnership agreement with Ishigaki City, Okinawa Prefecture. This is the first time that the company has collaborated with a local government in Okinawa Prefecture.
石垣市は、沖縄本島の南西約400kmに位置する八重山諸島の中心都市で、豊かな自然と独自の文化が魅力です。美しい亜熱帯の自然に囲まれた常夏の島として人気の観光地で、織物、陶器、木工品などの工芸品をはじめ、食品、果物、酒、花など多くの特産品があります。2024年に石垣市を訪れた観光客数は約141万人で、前年比19.6%増、COVID-19流行前の2019年の水準と比較すると約95.9%となっており、COVID-19流行により落ち込んでいた観光需要が回復しつつあります。
Ishigaki City’s population is on the rise, increasing by 5,860 people in 25 years, from 41,777 people (1995) to 47,637 people (2020). Furthermore, in July 2023, the city achieved its first population of 50,000 people, and the population outflow and decline, which are issues facing many local governments, and the declining birthrate and aging population are not significant issues. On the other hand, with the rapid recovery of tourism demand, the number of new job openings in 2022 was 5,981, an increase of 6.9% from the previous year, while the number of new job applications was 3,021, a decrease of 13.1% from the previous year, resulting in a serious labor shortage.

Therefore, we have concluded this partnership agreement with the aim of using “Timee” to solve the problems facing Ishigaki City. In order to promote the resolution of local issues in 石垣市 and the revitalization of the local economy, this partnership agreement aims to create an environment where business owners and workers can easily use “タイム” under our company’s mission of “creating infrastructure that expands life’s possibilities through work.”
