FastDoctor Co., Ltd. has begun API integration between “Secom OWEL,” a cloud-based electronic medical record system provided by セコム医療システム株式会社., Ltd., and its in-house primary care physician support tool, “Clinic Portal.”
In home medical care, part-time doctors sometimes substitute for the primary care physician upon request, but the safe and appropriate transfer of patient information in such cases has been a challenge. This API integration enables automatic and secure synchronization of patient information registered in “Secom OWEL” with “Clinic Portal,” accurately sharing the latest information on medical condition, medication status, emergency response policies, and other information required for the part-time doctor’s care. This significantly reduces the burden of handovers on primary care physicians and enables accurate and consistent medical care together with the part-time doctor, further improving the quality and safety of the home medical care system.
In this initiative, by automatically synchronizing the attending physician’s electronic medical record, “Secom OWEL,” with the “Clinic Portal” via API integration, we have achieved both safety and efficiency in the sharing of highly sensitive medical information. Automatic synchronization makes it possible to share the latest patient information and precautions known by the attending physician with part-time doctors without omission, reducing information gaps between doctors and enabling consistent and appropriate medical treatment.

Furthermore, from the perspective of information security, it is important for electronic medical records, which handle a large amount of patient information, to have a system that strictly manages who can access what information, and when. This initiative creates a system in which the attending physician shares only the necessary information about the patient with a part-time physician, preventing the risk of the part-time physician accessing the attending physician’s medical record system outside of working hours or after retirement, and reducing information risks such as the unauthorized use of IDs and passwords and the opacity of access history. This will improve the accuracy of information sharing between attending physicians and part-time physicians while protecting patient privacy, contributing to improved reliability and efficiency of the collaborative system.
