NEC Corporation, in collaboration with NEC Africa (Pty) Ltd., has launched a digital agriculture project with the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Food Production of Côte d’Ivoire to improve agricultural efficiency and productivity. The initiative aims to ensure equitable distribution of agricultural inputs such as seeds and fertilizers and to stabilize harvests by leveraging digital technology to better manage farmer and field information for key crops including rice, cassava, and corn.
プロジェクトの背景
Côte d’Ivoire’s economy is largely based on agriculture. It makes up 30% of the GDP and offers jobs for almost half of the population. Global crises, such as natural disasters, conflicts, and pandemics, have raised input costs. This makes it hard for farmers to get essential materials. JICA and the African Development Bank are teaming up to boost food security in this emergency. This helped the Ministry of Agriculture create a digital system. They can now manage input distribution and production better.
農業効率化のためのデジタルソリューション
NECはこの取り組みに2つのコアサービスを提供しています：
- e-Voucherシステム： IDカードとスマートフォンを活用し、農業資材の流通・利用状況を可視化するe-Voucherプラットフォーム。ID発行時に生体認証を行うことで、安全かつ公平なアクセスを実現し、不正利用を防止します。
- CropScope農業ICTプラットフォーム： 農地データの整理不足を解消するため、NECはCropScopeを導入し、3万ヘクタールをカバーする包括的なデータベースを構築します。このプラットフォームは、圃場検査や作物の生育モニタリングをサポートし、最適な施肥や収穫時期を推奨するアドバイザリー機能を提供することで、収量の安定性と効率性を高めます。
