Until now, it was possible to obtain data by following the necessary procedures, but in some cases it took more than two months from application to acquisition, making it difficult to use data quickly.
In addition, to achieve data integration, it is necessary to individually build a configuration that complies with laws and security requirements, and system modifications are required each time. In addition, because the granularity and structure of data differ between each system, conversion processing is also essential, and many challenges had to be overcome. By introducing the Denodo Platform, TEPCO reduced the man-hours required for data acquisition by up to 80%. Data can now be acquired in as little as three business days, with an average of five. The person in charge said, “We have an environment in place where we can quickly acquire, process, and analyze the data we need when we need it.” The burden of data integration on-site has been greatly reduced by eliminating the need to modify individual systems and complex procedures, which had been an issue until now. Productivity has also improved in maintaining the data collection source systems.
