SoftBank Corp. The Koshizuka Laboratory at the University of Tokyo’s Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies plans to form the ‘xIPF Consortium’ with partner organizations and companies. This will be set up as a general incorporated association in fiscal year 2025. The consortium will create a new data collaboration platform called a ‘Data Space.’ This platform aims to boost large-scale data use with artificial intelligence (AI).
2025年10月7日、xIPFコンソーシアム準備委員会が発足します。業界を超えたデータ連携の新しい枠組みを立ち上げます。これはその第一歩です。
AIを活用したデータシステムの基盤構築
AIの発展に伴い、都市、企業、人々が日々作成する膨大なデータを共有し、利用する安全な方法が必要です。さまざまな組織が個別に保有しているデータは、共有プラットフォーム上で接続する必要があります。このプラットフォームは、データを保存し、処理し、整理する必要があります。また、データの意味や文脈を明確にする必要があります。このシステムによって、AIはさまざまな用途や状況に応じて最適な予測や判断を下すことができるようになるのです。

xIPFコンソーシアムでは、先進的なデータスペースの作成と管理に取り組んでいます。これらのスペースは、異なる業界間で簡単にデータを共有することを可能にします。このコンソーシアムの目的は、データの共有と相互運用性を高めることです。これにより、持続可能で競争力のある社会インフラの構築が加速します。また、モビリティ、エネルギー、小売、都市開発などの分野における新たなサービスや価値を解き放ちます。

The consortium’s prep committee will kick off on October 7, 2025, before the official launch. This event will share the consortium’s vision. It will link industry stakeholders, local governments, and schools. It will also aim to boost participation through open collaboration and co-creation.
設立組織の役割
ソフトバンク has been working on xIPF, the Super Distributed Computing Platform, since 2023. This is part of its larger goal to create next-generation digital infrastructure. The consortium plans to use its expertise to create an advanced data space. It will combine this with its AI data centers and computing platforms. Also, it will integrate ‘Sarashina,’ a large-scale Japanese language model being developed by its subsidiary, SB Intuitions Corp. This integrated infrastructure drives digital innovation. It supports industrial activities and helps tackle complex social challenges.
