リコーと損保ジャパン、マルチモーダルLLMの共同開発を開始

Ricoh Company, Ltd. and Sompo Japan Insurance Inc. have begun joint development of a private multimodal large-scale language model suitable for Sompo Japan’s insurance business. This joint development is being carried out as part of the “GENIAC (Generative AI Accelerator Challenge) ” project, which is being implemented by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) with the aim of strengthening the development capabilities of generative AI in Japan.

LMMは、テキスト、画像、音声、動画など、複数の形式のデータを一度に処理できるAI技術です。テキスト情報のスクリーンショットの内容を要約したり、図を使った質問に適切に回答するなど、さまざまな形式のデータを効率的に処理できることが期待されています。

ジェニアックにて、 リコー は、日本企業が利用できる LMM の開発に取り組んでいます。その目的は、企業内に存在するテキスト、図、表、画像など様々な形式のデータからなる文書や帳票を効率的に活用することで、イノベーションを支援することです。

損保ジャパン is also currently running a trial of the “Oshison LLM ” system, which automatically generates optimal responses to inquiries from both inside and outside the company by learning from insurance business regulations, manuals, Q&A data, etc. The documents in question contain many complex charts and graphs. Many Japanese documents and forms have their own unique formats, and there are cases where the existing LLM cannot provide accurate responses, making the accuracy of generating answers based on data an issue.
